This beautiful and sweet scented native wildflower is an EXCELLENT pollinator plant! While the white milky sap is posionous, this plant makes a great wildflower addition to any garden and is most famous for being the host plant for the Monarch butterfly. The young shoots, young leaves, flower buds and immature fruits are all edible raw, but caution is advised due to the heart effecting toxins the plant contains. ~20 seeds per packet.
This variety is part of our partnership with local Maryland seed saver and enthusiast Scott Malpass and his 'Scottland' Seed Business. A portion of sales of all varieties with Scott's Scottland association will be donated back to him to further support his seed saving work and community involvement in Maryland.
