Vigna unguiculata . 70-85 days. The most widely grown southern pea/cowpea in the country. The typical, reliable standard cowpea! Vigorous, high yielding, bushy growthed plants bear lavender flowers that set eight inch pods at the foliage level. Seeds are protein rich, medium-large in size, and have the dark black-eye trademark on its white shell. Also resistant to wilt and root knot nematodes. Peas can be harvested at the green shell stage at 60 to 65 days and at the dry pea stage at about 80 to 85 days. Great as a green manure crop. Requires warmth/heat for best results. 20-30 SEEDS PER PACKET.
